On Thursday, the club board met to appoint a new Chairman and as a result of their discussions Rosemary Johnson was appointed.

The general consensus among fans is that this is a good move for the club. In a GetSurrey article, Johnson is said to be Chairman on an interim basis. This suggests that the club is still looking for financial investment. Now that a new Chairman is in place, hopefully the club can push on in informing Garry Hill what his budget will be next season.

A statement on the club website read: ‘Rosemary was Vice-Chairman of Woking Supporters Club, Chairman and founder member of the Trust and is a shareholder. Rosemary and her family have been supporters of WFC for over 40 years and they are season ticket holders.

‘Rosemary believes that the fans are the lifeblood of the club and looks forward to guiding the club forward to its next successful season.’
