Can the Cards win for the first time in three months?

Woking Team News:

Garry Hill and Woking fans must have thought an elusive league win was finally heading their way after taking a two-goal lead at Southport last week. Yet Matt Butcher’s goals weren’t enough as the home side hit back twice in the last 15 minutes. Positives can be taken from that performance and hopefully the Cards will push on against the Heed at the Laithwaite.

It is unknown as to whether John Goddard will be fit to return having missed out last week due to a hamstring injury. Winger Alex Smith impressed in the first-half against Southport but, typically, he had to be substituted at half-time due to injury.

Player to watch: Matt Butcher

The 18-year-old on loan from Bournemouth will want to build on his two goals from last week in front of a home crowd.

Gateshead Team News:

Gateshead’s play-off hopes look to be beyond them now as they sit six points off Tranmere in fifth, but having played a game more than those around them.

Away from home they have the third best record in the league, behind league leaders Cheltenham and second-placed Forest Green. Gateshead will be without midfielder Paddy McLaughlin, defender Andre Bennett and Josh Gillies.

Player to watch: Ryan Bowman

The 24-year-old has scored 15 goals this season and against a vulnerable Woking defence he’ll want to add to his tally.
