A round-up of all the action from the Vanarama National League.

FOREST GREEN ROVERS came from a goal down in the second-half to beat MACCLESFIELD 2-1, to remain top of the Vanarama National League. Charlie Clough scored in the 93rd minute to give Rovers a priceless three points. Their Gloucestershire rivals CHELTENHAM eased to a 4-1 victory over mid-table BROMLEY to stay within a point of the leaders. Two goals each from new signing Dan Holman and Danny Wright earned them a comfortable home win.

TRANMERE won their fifth game from their last six to move into the play-off places. A 2-1 win over relegation battling TORQUAY, with goals from Gary Taylor-Fletcher and James Norwood, has put Rovers back on track for an instant return to the Football League.

GRIMSBY TOWN’s title hopes took a massive blow as a single Danny Johnson goal gave GATESHEAD an unlikely 1-0 win. Grimsby are now 12 points off leaders Forest Green with two games in hand. WREXHAM could have snatched a late win at high-flying EASTLEIGH but Connor Jennings missed an 88th minute penalty to leave the final score 1-1.

HALIFAX moved up one place to 19th after a 1-1 draw at home to WELLING. ALTRINCHAM, who dropped down to 20th, had their game at home to DOVER postponed. Elsewhere down the bottom, GUISELEY lost 1-0 at LINCOLN CITY, their first win in 11, while rock-bottom KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS also lost by the same scoreline to ALDERSHOT TOWN. SOUTHPORT’s fixture at home to BOREHAM WOOD was postponed.

Play-Off chasing WOKING were held to a frustrating draw with mid-table BARROW, leaving them still a point off of the play-offs. CHESTER have only one once in their last ten, a 2-0 defeat at BRAINTREE TOWN leaves them seven points above the drop but having played two games more.
