The Cards travel to Blundell Park for the second time in five days for their biggest game of the season to date.

Grimsby Town Team News:

It looks like Grimsby will have to settle for a place in the play-offs again this season after a recent run of poor results that has cut them adrift of Forest Green Rovers and leaders Cheltenham. A quarter final of the FA Trophy, then, looks more attractive than usual for the Mariners, who are likely to field a strong team.

Grimsby’s squad includes a number of experienced and familiar names, including: goalkeeper James McKeown, defenders Josh Gowling and Toto Nsiala, midfielders Craig Disley and Nathan Arnold, and forwards Padraig Amond, Omar Bogle and Jon-Paul Pittman.

Player to watch: Padraig Amond

The Irish striker scored twice on Tuesday night to take his tally to 24 goals for the season. Woking will need to keep him quiet this time around.

Woking Team News:

A 3-1 defeat at Grimsby on Tuesday extended Woking’s winless run in the league to five games, all but ending their play-off hopes. However, the Cards will hope to gain instant revenge tomorrow.

Garry Hill made eight changes on Tuesday night but told BBC Humberside afterwards that they weren’t all made in preparation for Saturday. Joe Quigley was struggling with illness as was Giuseppe Sole, who started the game and scored. Mark Ricketts wasn’t in the squad and was said to be ‘not 100 per cent’, hopefully the captain will be travelling on Saturday. Sam Smith (groin), Shaun Jeffers (back) and Brian Saah (hamstring) are all expected to be unavailable. Hill added Matt Butcher on loan from Bournemouth this week to bolster his options. The 18-year-old can play in either defence or midfield.

Player to watch: John Goddard

Rested on Tuesday, Goddard will be fresh to cause Grimsby’s backline some problems. Woking will need him to be at his best if they are to come away with anything.
